Dr. Fisher is a recognized authority on the causes of skin aging. He is Director of the Photobiology and Aging Skin Research Laboratory at the University of Michigan Medical School, where he is also Co-Director of Laser and Cosmetic Dermatology Research and Professor of Molecular Dermatology. Dr. Fisher is Associate Editor of the Journal for Investigative Dermatology and the Journal of Dermatological Science, and serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Cellular Communication and Aging.

He also serves as President of the Pan-American Society for Melanoma Research, and on the Steering Committee of the Society for Melanoma Research and the Council of the International Federation of Pigment Cell Societies.
